The musings, trends and culture through the lens of a young woman in search of herself, a good place to throw down her yoga mat, a great hotel in an obscure place, and the perfect organic red wine…
Alexandra, is currently residing in Danvers, MA and teaches yoga privately. She recently received her 200 Hour Hatha yoga Teacher Training through Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa, India. Alexandra came to yoga about 5 years ago at a time of physical illness and mental and emotional stress. Through yoga, she has cultivated awareness and compassion for her self and others and continuously practices to enhance those attributes in herself.
A daughter of a travel agent, Alex grew up traveling the world and developing a strong wanderlust. Her passion for human rights and international politics has led her to do volunteer work in India (as an English teacher) and has led her to study Political Science and Arabic at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She recently graduated from Colby College in Maine.
Alex loves cooking, poetry, chanting, opera, hiking, kayaking, her dog magic, her family…and a really really good cup of homemade chai.
Alex’s yoga classes vary depending on the client’s needs. She strives to cultivate compassion, harmony and balance while focusing on each client as an individual. Growing up as a dancer and loving physical activity, Alex enjoys teaching dynamic and flowing Hatha classes that allow the practitioner to create a dance-like mediation. However, She also enjoys teaching and practicing restorative yoga to heal her body and calm her mind while awakening her spirit. She is constantly learning to listen to her body and what it needs on a daily basis, and tries to cultivate that awareness in clients as well, while motivating them to view each day as a potential for rebirth and renewal.
